wow that's not something he would have thought he would need to explain. but, uh, how would one describe coffee to someone who has no idea? uh. basics?? ]
It's a bitter drink; most people add sugar, milk, or cream to it to make it more palatable.
[ which does not sound like a selling point for the drink but eyy. ]
[ i have no idea where they've skittered off to after leaving where they started, but here they are now. law continued to bring his drink with him because he's here for this entirely.
will it be lenore who will make me eat my words? ]
[ after getting a grips on his words and actions again, he's pretty pleased with himself. though, unfortunately, he is rather wary of the kind of effect that he's going to run into. not that he has any clue right now so when he comes upon lenore, he'll greet her mildly enough.
just a nod of the head. no memories yet, though. ]
[Law knocks on the door to Room 1, and fortunately catches Lenore while she's there. She opens the door, and he'll see that she's taken off her white cape and pulled her veil over her head, looking very much like a lady in mourning. There's a look of mild surprise at Law, but she greets him politely.]
Oh... Doctor. Have you come to see me? Would you like to come inside?
[ knocking isn't something he does but then again, this was a little bit different, yeah? law has his moments. ]
Dressed for the occasion already?
[ he'd make a comment about how fast she moved but at the same time...who knows what she had when she came here. law will lower his head in a nod once. ]
law isn't a bookworm but at the same time there isn't much you can entertain yourself with while you're cruising through the ocean to your next destination. so, yeah, law does a fair bit of reading. so, when lenore can find him, he'll have a small stack of books next to his person. it's a nice blend of fiction and nonfiction. ]
[it's friday, and they've just finished up their second blood donation of the week!]
[the apartment has a few small differences from the last time law saw it. the flower arrangements appear to have been very recently replaced with fresh ones. there's a box on the floor next to the television with a notebook and a bottle of pills in it. lenore's stepped up her hosting game a little by setting out an open box of cookies and a glass of water on the coffee table. and, of course, she's provided bandages again.]
[with both of them sitting on the couch, lenore leans against him, though she'll keep her hands to herself, allowing him to patch himself up or help himself to refreshments.]
... Thanks again. I'm glad I'll have my strength for tomorrow.
[because if the past weeks are anything to go off of, it's probably going to be a shitshow.]
[ it's really cute how she has upped her game for him and it doesn't go entirely unnoticed by law even if he doesn't say anything about it. he'll be idly bandaging his arm once again in the same neat fashion as he did the week previous, however, if lenore wishes to witness it, she's free to notice that there are faint scratches on his forearms and maybe what look like bite marks on his hands?
perhaps his finger tips are stained a very pale red. surely that's fine??? either way nothing else will seem off about him previously or presently. ]
It's nothing; I'd rather be subjected to a few bites instead of any other alternative.
[ his voice will sound a bit distant when he continues speaking... ]
[ well. didn't that trial go well? rather, didn't that trial go in a direction that was mildly insulting in its own right. not that law had much to care about these days but... it's fine. they managed to get some more information and law has his notebook open while he sits at one of the airport's cafes.
spread out on the table was, as well, the shirt that he had been given from mahito because....well apparently they had some sort of uniform now. or a "team" shirt? what would you call it.....
he'll be tapping on a blank page with the end of his pen. ]
[lenore also came to this airport to hang out after the trial (still wearing the I L*VE HELL t-shirt, of course), and when she sees law, she'll head right over to that cafe. she grabs a drink (some kind of bottled tea) and sits down across from him.
she's still giving off feelings of satisfaction, after that conclusion.]
[a few hours after their talk in the airport, law might spot lenore somewhere out in the city. she's not wearing the t-shirt anymore! from a distance, there's nothing obviously off about her...
except for feelings of intense anxiety. it seems she's actually panicking about something?
she disappears into the blacksmith, and if he looks inside, he'll find her going through the tools there, one by one, picking them up with one hand and shoving them back where they were, seemingly looking for something.]
[ i'm glad i don't know what my plans are for law were for saturday because this is all that matters at the moment. the blacksmith is not a place where he would think to see her?? hi?? ]
Lenore?
[ the anxiety that she feels is the first red flag that pops into his mind and he's going to make his way towards her. definitely making sure that he's making himself known as he does so that she doesn't need to be startled by him. ]
[ a short while after getting their heartbeats back and truly being alive again, law will bump into lenore. it's...weird. the whole concept of it is weird but he'll be happy when he sees her.
[there are, in fact, two hands! lenore eagerly raises her newly-grown left one in greeting. it's a pale white, compared to the rest of her, which still looks a bit sunburnt.]
It did! We actually made it through the day without losing anyone...
And with any luck, by this time tomorrow, I'll be back at home with my sisters, talking their ears off with stories they will absolutely hate to hear about.

[ lady...you coming onto him? not that he's bothered by it; if anything he's nonchalant about it. ]
Tea would be fine. [ boring. ] Or coffee.
[ even more boring... ]
quickly googles to find out what year coffee came to europe
